A global study in Nature Medicine, involving WHO’s cancer agency IARC, estimates over 15 million people born between 2008 and 2017 may develop gastric cancer in their lifetime, with India among the highest contributors. Researchers linked 76% of cases to Helicobacter pylori infection. They emphasised screening and treatment to prevent up to 75% of future cases.
