At least 31 people died and dozens of others were injured after a stampede broke out during Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief Vijay's political rally in Tamil Nadu's Karur, state ministers said. The deceased include six children and 16 women, Tamil Nadu Health Minister Ma Subramanian said. Many people fell unconscious due to overcrowding at the rally.
