The government informed that the National Centre for Disease Control recorded 37,17,336 dog bite cases in 2024, and 54 'suspected' human rabies deaths. Additionally, the Animal Welfare Board of India issued 166 letters to Resident Welfare Associations, Apartment Owners' Associations, and other local bodies for action on complaints related to the feeding of community animals from 2024 to June 2025.
