A government survey found that 86,934 classrooms and 5,667 of Rajasthan’s 63,018 government schools were completely dilapidated, following a school roof collapse in Jhalawar that killed seven children. It also identified 17,109 toilets in similar condition. Rajasthan has 45,531 government primary/upper primary schools and 19,739 senior secondary schools, according to the 2024-25 Economic Review.
