A new study suggests oyster farming could do more than provide food - it might also reduce ocean carbon and fight climate change. Researchers found oyster ecosystems absorbed over twice as much carbon through photosynthesis than stored in shells. The right oyster density boosted phytoplankton, making waters more alkaline and reducing ocean acidification.
