Indian drug regulator Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation has approved the use of weight loss drug Ozempic for adults battling Type 2 diabetes. Novo Nordisk will launch the once-a-week injectable medicine in Indian market. Ozempic is the trade name for semaglutide that acts like the natural hormone GLP-1 to increase insulin release when blood glucose is high.
