A long-lost painting depicting the crucifixion of Jesus Christ sold for $2.7 million (around ₹24.17 crore) at an auction in France's Versailles on Sunday. The artwork, created by Flemish Baroque master Peter Paul Rubens, was reportedly lost in the early 1600s and was found recently in a private townhouse in Paris. The scene was depicted by Rubens only once.
