Pakistan Army pitched a $1.2-billion project to US to build deep-water port at Pasni with a railway link to mineral heartlands, FT reported. Army chief Asim Munir plans to pose Pasni as a mineral gateway for copper and antimony, which have spiked in importance over China's mineral export ban. The project seems like a desperate gamble by a weakened regime.
