While speaking with Pakistani armed forces in Quetta, Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif said the country's allies like China, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Qatar and UAE "no more expect that we go [to them] with a begging bowl". He said Pakistan's allies now expected it to engage them in trade and commerce. Pakistan owes around $29 billion to China, as of 2024.
