Pakistan witnessed a decline in democratic principles, a surge in terrorism and lynchings caused by blasphemy cases, according to The Human Rights Commission of Pakistan report for the year 2024. According to the report, a sharp increase in violence was noticed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and 77 individuals were charged with blasphemy, which also led to a tourist's lynching in Swat.
