Pakistan's newly-appointed crypto chief Bilal Bin Saqib revealed that the country's strategic Bitcoin reserve will require 2,000 megawatts of electricity just in its first phase. According to data available with Lahore electricity supply division, this is over 55% of the entire city's total electricity demand in 2023. The revelation has raised concerns in the electricity and water-starved nation.
