Veteran Pakistani journalist Asma Shirazi has claimed that the country's army chief Asim Munir demanded $10,000 (nearly ₹9 lakh) per soldier from Israel for deploying Pakistani troops to Gaza as part of a proposed peacekeeping force. However, Israel refused and offered just $100 (nearly ₹9,000) per soldier. Pakistan reportedly planned to send around 20,000 soldiers to Gaza.
