The office of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has urged the US to reinstate his visa, cancelled weeks before key UN meetings, including the General Assembly and a conference on Palestinian statehood. The US revoked visas of Abbas and about 80 Palestinian officials citing national security. The Palestinian Authority condemned the move as a violation of US commitments as UN host.
