UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres called on the international community to take "urgent, irreversible steps" toward a two-state solution for Israel and Palestine. "Statehood for the Palestinians is a right, not a reward...The denial of statehood would be a gift to extremists everywhere," Guterres said. His remarks came as a meeting was held at UNGA on the two-state solution issue.
