Eighteen years after her murder, parents of 13-year-old Sofia received her mortal remains- skull and fragments of bones- for burial. The Karnataka native was working as house help in Goa when her employer killed her, chopped her body and dumped it at dam site. Recovered in 2008, her remains were handed over to her family by a court recently.
