India's automobile sector showed mixed results in August 2025. Passenger vehicle sales fell 8.8% to 3.22 lakh units, while three-wheelers rose 8.3% to a record 75,759 units. Two-wheelers grew 7.1%, led by scooters and motorcycles. E-rickshaw sales dropped sharply, but GST cuts on vehicles are expected to boost festive season demand, said Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM).
