Université de Toulouse researchers found that people could be inhaling 68,000 microplastic particles in 1-10 micrometre range daily in homes and cars. It's 100 times more than prior estimates for small-diameter exposures, their study published in PLOS said. The findings suggest health risks due to inhalation of lung-penetrating microplastics may be higher than previously thought, researchers said.
