People are "disappointed and angered" by Bangladesh interim government's decision to hold elections in April 2026, Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) said. The party reiterated its proposal to hold the elections by December this year, citing Ramadan, exams, and weather conditions. Notably, the polls come after former PM Sheikh Hasina was ousted in student-led protests last year.
