Talking about Karur stampede, Tami Nadu government said that crowd at TVK chief Vijay's rally increased in the afternoon and some people had been waiting since morning, leading to dehydration and exhaustion. "People surged forward amidst heavy crowd to see actor-politician Vijay's face in the rally," the state government said. Forty-one people, including 10 children were killed in the stampede.
