Jahangir Kabir Nanak, an ex-minister in Sheikh Hasina’s government, criticised the death penalty for the former Bangladesh PM by the International Crimes Tribunal. Predicting that the verdict would be metaphorically "thrown" into the Bay of Bengal as a symbol of public repudiation, he said, "This is a pre-determined judgement. It sounds ridiculous. It’s a false judgment."
