Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman confirmed that petrol, diesel and alcohol products are unlikely to come under new GST regime in immediate future. When asked if such products will continue to remain outside the GST, she said, "The current proposal doesn't include it." Taxes on the aforementioned products are and will continue to be levied separately by Centre and the states.
