The Philippines accused China of using water cannon and hitting their vessels near the Philippine-occupied Thitu Island in South China Sea and said the incident caused minor damage but no injuries. Philippines called China's actions a "clear threat". China claims nearly the entire South China Sea parts of which are also claimed by Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Vietnam.
