Physicists at Loughborough University used nanotechnology to create "the world's smallest violin", which is small enough to fit within the width of a human hair. The violin measures 35 microns long and 13 microns wide, while a human hair typically ranges from 17-180 microns in diameter. The violin is made of platinum and was created as a test project.
