Photographer Valter Binotto has shared an image showing a "mysterious" red-coloured halo above a town in Italy. Binotto said that the halo, which hovered at an altitude of about 100 km, is a rare lighting-related phenomenon. It is called ELVES or emission of light and very low-frequency perturbations due to electromagnetic pulse sources, he added.
