The Pilia jumping spider, a mystery since 1902, has been rediscovered in the Western Ghats. A new species, Pilia malenadu, and the first-ever female of the genus were found. This solved a century-old taxonomic problem and confirmed the genus is restricted to India. This find is a significant contribution to understanding the region's unique biodiversity.
