Pingali Venkayya, born on August 2, 1879, in Andhra Pradesh, was the visionary behind India's national flag. A freedom fighter, educator, agriculturist, and polyglot, he proposed the Tricolour in 1921 to Mahatma Gandhi. His design, later modified, was officially adopted on July 22, 1947, symbolising India's unity, sacrifice, purity, and progress.
