Scientists from the US National Science Foundation National Solar Observatory and New Jersey Institute of Technology have produced the clearest images of the Sun's corona to date. Among them was an image of pink plasma rain. The researchers captured the images using the 1.6-metre Goode Solar Telescope at Big Bear Solar Observatory in California.
