The price of platinum hit its highest level since August 2014, with spot platinum surging to $1,458.80 per ounce on Friday. "In precious metals, the carnival has moved on from safe-haven gold to silver, platinum and palladium as pro-growth, industrial alternatives," expert Adrian Ash said.
