PM Narendra Modi on his J&K visit on Friday announced additional financial assistance for families affected by recent Pakistani shelling in the Union Territory. ₹2 lakh will be provided to families whose homes suffered serious damage, while ₹1 lakh will be given for partially damaged houses. Earlier, families whose houses were seriously damaged received a maximum compensation of ₹1.3 lakhs.
