Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday announced that his government would install grand statues of Chola-era emperors Rajaraja Chola and his son Rajendra Chola I in Tamil Nadu. "The legacy of Rajaraja Chola and Rajendra Chola is synonymous with India’s identity and pride," he said. PM Modi also released a commemorative coin in honour of Rajendra Chola I.
