PM Narendra Modi on Saturday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for development projects worth over ₹4,800 crore in Tamil Nadu's Thoothukudi. He inaugurated Tuticorin Airport's new terminal building, built at a cost of ₹450 crore. Other projects include the 4-laning of the 50 km Sethiyathope–Cholapuram stretch of NH-36 and the 6-laning of the 5.16 km NH-138 Tuticorin Port Road.
