Congress' Manish Tewari said PM Narendra Modi needs to be extremely generous to provide aid to flood-hit Himachal Pradesh and Punjab. "Punjab and Himachal Pradesh are border states and in addition to empathy, what these two states require is solid, sustained financial support to rebuild livelihoods of people," he said. The Centre needs to open its purse strings, Tewari added.
