Poland has scrambled its fighter jets to ensure the safety of Polish airspace after Russia launched air strikes in western Ukraine, near Poland's border, the Operational Command of the Polish armed forces said. "The measures taken are aimed at ensuring security in areas bordering the threatened regions," the Command stated. It added that forces remain fully ready for immediate response.
