Following public pressure due to viral video of a woman allegedly being thrashed due to saree theft, Bengaluru West Division police filed a second FIR against shopkeeper and assistant. Charges include assault with intent to outrage modesty (Section 74 BNS) and voluntarily causing hurt (Section 115). Both have been remanded to judicial custody while the police conduct an internal review.
