Bengaluru Police had advised IPL franchise Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Karnataka government to hold the team's victory celebrations on Sunday (June 8) instead of Wednesday (June 4), Deccan Herald reported. A senior police officer told the publication that their advice to hold the celebration once emotions were "settled", was "ignored". 11 people died in stampede during celebrations.
