Pope Francis came so close to death at one point during his stay in hospital that his doctors considered ending treatment so he could die in peace, the head of the pontiff's medical team said. The doctor explained that on February 28, the Pope nearly choked on his vomit. The 88-year-old returned to the Vatican on Sunday.
