Amid criticism for showcasing ₹1.2 lakh Kolhapuri-style slippers without proper credit, a team from Italian fashion house Prada arrived in Kolhapur to learn about the history and craftsmanship behind the Kolhapuri chappals. The slippers have been holding Geographical Indication (GI) status in India since 2019. The team was hosted by Maharashtra Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture.
