A group of protesters tried to vandalise the gate of Pashupatinath Temple, a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, in Nepal, following which the Army intervened to thwart their attempt. The Army took over security in the Himalayan nation after several key buildings, including Parliament, were burnt in protests against corruption. The Hilton Hotel in Kathmandu was also burnt by protesters.
