In a major safety move post the Mumbra tragedy, Central Railway has developed a prototype for closed doors in non-AC Mumbai local trains. The prototype, created at Kurla Carshed, will be showcased on August 4 to the Railway Board Chairman. With improved ventilation and safety features, the initiative marks a shift toward safer commuting for over 7 million daily passengers.
