The Supreme Court has cautioned that considerations of public interest should not be narrowly confined to financial aspect only. The Court said that public tenders are the cornerstone of governmental procurement processes, being competitive and ensuring fairness and transparency in the allocation of public resources. It allowed appeal filed against the Calcutta High Court’s judgment.
