The Bhagwant Mann-led Punjab government on Tuesday unanimously passed a resolution in a special Assembly session to declare Amritsar (Old), Anandpur Sahib, and Talwandi Sabo as holy cities. The decision includes a ban on sale of meat, liquor, tobacco, and other intoxicants in these areas. The move was announced as tribute to Guru Tegh Bahadur on his martyrdom day.
