Expressing dissatisfaction over the failure to control the crowd that led to a fatal stampede at the premiere of Pushpa 2: The Rule, the NHRC has issued a show-cause notice to the Chief Secretary of Telangana. It seeks an explanation as to why the next of kin of the woman who died in the incident should not be given a compensation of ₹5 lakh.
