Russian President Putin and Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu held a phone call to discuss the Gaza war, US President Donald Trump's 20-point Gaza peace plan and Iran's nuclear programme, among other issues. Putin signalled Russia's support for a settlement of the Palestinian issue, while both agreed on preventing escalation. Israel is currently holding indirect talks with Hamas in Egypt.
