Qatar has become the eighth country to accept the National Payments Corporation of India-developed UPI payment system. Indians travelling to Qatar will now be able to carry out UPI payments at major tourist sites and Qatar Duty Free outlets. UPI payments are already accepted in countries like Bhutan, France, Mauritius, Nepal, Singapore, Sri Lanka, and the UAE.
