Qualcomm is set to acquire Alphawave Semi for $2.4 billion. The deal supports Qualcomm’s push into data centres amid rising demand for AI computing. Alphawave’s chip tech will boost Qualcomm’s low-power CPU and NPU offerings. The acquisition, pending regulatory and shareholder approvals, is expected to be completed by early 2026. It strengthens Qualcomm’s position in AI and networking solutions.
