Ajinkya Rahane named his India playing XI for the first Test against England, picking Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, Sai Sudharsan, captain Shubman Gill, and Dhruv Jurel. The 37-year-old chose Rishabh Pant as the wicketkeeper. The remaining players include Ravindra Jadeja, Shardul Thakur, Mohammed Siraj, Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh. Notably, Rahane left out batter Karun Nair from his XI.
