The Rajasthan government has banned the sale of eggs, meat, and other non-vegetarian food items on August 28 (Jains' Paryushan Parv) and September 6 (Anant Chaturdashi), said Minister Jhabar Singh Kharra. This is reportedly the first time the ban has extended to eggs, in addition to the closure of slaughterhouses and meat shops, as per the demands of religious organisations.
