Defence Minister Rajnath Singh spoke to Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge to seek support for a consensus and possibly an unopposed election after the NDA announced CP Radhakrishnan as its Vice Presidential candidate, reports said. It added that election, scheduled for September, will be held under Singh’s supervision on behalf of NDA, with Union Minister Kiren Rijiju appointed as election agent.
