Researchers have discovered natural glass, or 'tektites', in Australia that may be evidence of an unknown asteroid impact nearly 11 million years ago. Named "ananguites," these glasses differ in age and composition from known Australasian tektites. While the crater remains undiscovered, possible sites include Papua New Guinea and Indonesia. Scientists say the find aids planetary defence research.
