Australia's Usman Khawaja was barred from opening the first innings in the first Ashes Test due to a rare rule. Khawaja spent around 30 minutes off the field during England’s innings. Under the playing conditions, if a player is off field for more than eight minutes, they must return to field for the same duration before being allowed to bat/bowl.
